    Description

    Medical Assistant I - Clinics Position at Legacy Health

    Location: Oregon and Washington state - Portland metro and mid-Willamette Valley regions

    You play a vital role in connecting patients and physicians, ensuring accurate test administration and result reporting. Your attention to detail and care contribute to Legacy's mission of improving lives.

    This position involves assisting with patient care, maintaining clinic efficiency, and other assigned duties. You'll be part of the healthcare team under physician supervision, participating in daily operations.

    There are multiple resource pool openings available, requiring work in Oregon and/or Washington.

    Washington State certification as a Medical Assistant-Certified or Interim Medical Assistant-Certified is mandatory for Washington positions.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare patients and rooms for exams and procedures
    • Perform basic laboratory testing, point of care testing, phlebotomy, and quality controls
    • Administer medications as directed
    • Assist with exams and procedures
    • Document medical information accurately
    • Track and route test results, and communicate results to patients
    • Facilitate patient care activities and maintain supplies inventory
    • Use electronic health records for documentation and communication
    • Process orders accurately and perform other assigned duties

    Qualifications:

    Experience: Previous experience as a back office medical assistant with one year preferred

    Education:

    • Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent experience
    • Completion of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces
    • For Oregon: Basic or Advanced Oregon Emergency Medical Technician program completion

    Skills: Proficient in keyboard skills and electronic systems navigation

    Licensure:

    Washington and Oregon: Current American Heart Association BLS-CPR certification is required. MA certification is mandatory within one year of hire, from recognized organizations. AAMA certification is preferred.

    Oregon Only: MA certification can be substituted with current Oregon Emergency Medical Technician license and national EMT registration.

    Washington Only: Washington State MA certification is required, including AIDS training.

    Pay Range: USD $32.20 per hour
