    Our customer has an immediate need for a full-time, experienced licensed structural engineer in Oklahoma City, OK. This position's responsibilities include designing and detailing cold formed steel structures, such as non-load bearing curtain walls and load bearing applications. Candidate must have a solid technical background, extensive expertise designing hot rolled steel, and a drive to learn about cold formed steel design and details. If the candidate exhibits the correct mindset, he or she will be given frequent and consistent opportunities to build leadership abilities and contribute to overall company management choices. Experience designing cold formed steel is not essential, but the willingness to understand CFS design and the capacity to self-study the right direction is essential. The candidate will collaborate with young engineers and drafters to create drawings and calculation packages.

    Desired Qualifications and Duties:

    • Requirements include a Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering and a PE license.
    • Ability to lead projects with little to no supervision throughout the project cycle
    • SE A license obtained via examination is a benefit.
    • 5 to 10 years of expertise in structural design of buildings (steel design knowledge is required).
    • Authorized to work in the US long-term (no visa sponsorship)
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong technical background and the ability to study and solve unique technological difficulties.
    • Experience or experience with the design and details of cold formed steel frame is beneficial.
    • Create comprehensive CFS shop drawings and calculations.
    • Experience with Revit is required for 2D and 3D drawing creation. Knowledge with FEA analysis and design tools, such as SAP, is advantageous.
    • Address any concerns during the CA phase.
    • Participate in BIM coordination meetings as necessary.
    • Assist in training and mentoring the junior personnel.
