- Frequently stand in the same position for an extended period of time, i.e. holding retractors and other instruments while assisting surgeon or anesthesia during procedure.
- Frequently twist i.e. while scrubbed in holding retractors and other instruments.
- Frequent grasping, pinching, and fine finger manipulation while holding retractors and other instruments.
- Occasionally reach above waist i.e., to hold patient extremities, reaching for instruments, and supplies.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, above head, i.e. irrigation fluids, instrument pans, patient extremities.
- Occasionally push up to 100 pounds, patients on carts/beds, surgery equipment & monitors.
- Occasionally use sight capacities, including spatial, peripheral, colors & accommodation & depth perception.
- Frequently use near and far vision while reviewing computer screens, gauges on patient equipment, monitors, etc.
- Frequently utilize simple reading skills, normal conversations.
- Occasional exposure to comprehensive speech, both simple and complex writing skills, basic and complex math, basic computer skills.
- Frequently exposed to low volume of speech with patients and telephone conversations with other members of the healthcare team, physicians, family members, sales reps.
- Continual exposure to an inside, patient environment with occasional unpleasant odors or noises.
- Frequent exposure to low light or glare conditions.
- Frequent exposure to infectious blood/body fluids and diseases requiring infection control practices, red infectious waste.
- Frequent exposure to electro cautery/smoke from escar/needles/syringes/sharps during medication administration, passing of instruments, assistance with treatments, invasive procedures, surgery.
- Frequent exposure to chemical compounds, preservatives, and cleaning agents such as Cidex, Formalin, Steris concentrate & bone cement (bone cement fumes can be potentially dangerous to pregnant women).
- Frequent potential for burns due to high heat from sterilizers and autoclaves.
- Frequent exposure to Non-Ionizing radiation while wearing protective shields, collars and film badge.
- Frequent problem solving, analyzing, use of judgment and critical thinking in regards to OR equipment, changes of patient condition, environmental factors, and flexibility.
- Frequently able to work overtime and be on-call.

Job DescriptionSalary:Our Surgery Department is looking for a Surgical Tech to join their team
Shift: 7 A.M. - 3 P.M.
Schedule: Hours may vary from scheduled shift
Hours per week: 37.5
Must be available for overtime and weekday, weekend, and holiday call.
Position Summary:
The Surgical Technician is responsible for aiding the RN and physician in delivering care to those patients requiring operative/invasive procedures during their intra-operative and immediate post-operative phases of care.
Hours will be primarily 7-3, occasional 6-2 and 10-6 plus call.
Job Relationships:
