At Walla Walla Community College, we inspire all students to discover their potential and achieve their goals by providing relevant, equitable, and innovative learning opportunities and services. We have identified three core themes that describe the fundamental aspects of the College's mission by translating it into practice: Student Success, Strong Communities, and Resource Stewardship. General Description:
The Dean of Nursing and Allied Health Programs provides leadership and administration of the College's Nursing and Allied Health Programs. This position supports the delivery of instruction and student success by directly overseeing the instructional, fiscal and personnel operations of the nursing and allied health programs within the College's Instructional Division. The Dean has budgetary authority and responsibility for recruiting and hiring of full and part-time faculty, classified, and professional exempt staff and is responsible for maintaining the relevancy of curriculum in alignment with the Washington State Department of Health, College and program accreditation, and College requirements.
The Dean of Nursing works closely with program chairs, faculty, and staff to achieve instructional goals. This position also works closely with external stakeholders, such as hospitals, clinics, transfer colleges and universities, and other partners to develop and implement new and continuing program initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of the college.
Preferred Qualifications
You don't check every qualification listed? Please apply anyway Studies have shown that traditionally marginalized communities - such as women, LGBTQ+ and people of color - are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification - even if they might be a great fit for the role If you're excited about this opportunity but your experience doesn't align perfectly with every single qualification in the job description, we encourage you to still consider applying.
Conditions/Terms of Employment
This is a full-time administrative professional position. Persons hired must be able to provide acceptable documentation of lawful authorization to work in the United States within three (3) days of employment. WWCC participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S. Official college transcripts required at time of hire. Candidates may be subject to a criminal history background check as a condition of employment. Information from the background check may not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position. The college is a tobacco free institution.
Work setting is primarily indoors with standard office equipment and no expected exposure to hazards. Out of town travel required; regular visits to College campuses; travel required as needed to other various sites (clinical site, practicum sites, etc.). Frequent contact with students, faculty, staff, members of the community, and community partners.
Compensation:
This salary includes base salary plus a legislatively-approved nurse educator stipend for an incumbent with a certified nursing degree. Annual salary range without a nursing degree: $114,341 - $129,366. The college has an excellent benefit program including paid sick leave; paid vacation leave; medical, dental, life, and long-term disability insurance; retirement and two optional deferred compensation programs.
