    Nature of Work

    Under close supervision, this entry-level position will perform analytical, diagnostic, and epidemiological laboratory testing. Primarily responsible for conducting high complexity testing for bacteriology identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, vaccine preventable disease surveillance, Influenza, and SARS-COV-2 molecular detection. Will perform a variety of laboratory duties, analytical procedure validations, and quality assurance and control studies in such fields as diagnostic and surveillance microbiology.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a biological, microbiological, chemical, or environmental science, medical technology, molecular biology, forensic science or related field.

    Special Requirement: For positions which involve processing and analysis of human specimens and/or the generation or interpretation of laboratory results that may be used in the diagnosis or treatment of a disease or condition in humans, the incumbent must have or be eligible for licensure as a WV Clinical Laboratory Practitioner as required by 64 C.S.R.§57.
