    The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing day-to-day HR-related duties on a professional level.

    Responsibilities may include any/all the following functional areas:

    payroll, benefits, recruiting/onboarding, HRIS, worker's compensation, leave management, policy implementation, affirmative action, employee relations, training and coaching leaders in areas of policy and employment law compliance.

    This role will partner with leaders to support the business needs, in conjunction with the HR Director who reviews and recommends business actions.

    The HR Generalist may have specific ownership responsibilities based on the above list

    recruiting, Payroll and/or Benefits, Training.


    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

    Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

    Manages ATS – Posts jobs, recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

    Creates and manages the recruitment and retention program to include attending job fairs, partnering with local colleges and high schools, and other community outreach to ensure EEO compliance.

    Conducts or acquires background checks and drug screenings to ensure new hire and employee eligibility for employment.
    Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
    Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    Assists leaders with employee disciplinary matters to include coaching, terminations, and investigations.

    May perform benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.

    Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
    Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
    Backup for payroll processing and reporting needs as needed. To include all additional pay.

    May assist with Worker's Compensation claims to include FNOI, payroll tracking, Light duty offer letters, doctor note follow ups, and proper return to work.

    May assist with affirmative action program; filing EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations – as needed.

    Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local benefit and employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

    Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

    All other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    ~ SHRM-CP or SCP highly preferred
    ~2 years' experience in a Generalist role – preferred.
    ~ Valid Driver's License and Insurable Driving Record (Required)
    ~ Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
    ~ This position does require store visits, working in the stores to gain experience and some travel (less than 25% of the time).
