    Job Summary:

    Raytheon has an exciting career opportunity for a Low Observable (LO) Antenna Engineering Fellow to join our Radomes & Apertures team in McKinney, Texas, with responsibilities having significant impact, recognition, and growth in the organization.

    The Radomes & Apertures team resides within the Apertures and RF Department.

    The department is responsible for full-scope antenna product solutions, spanning architecture trades, design, development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of antenna systems and associated integrated system verification solutions.

    The candidate will support state-of-the-art ultra-wideband phased array antennas, individual antennas, and Low Observables (LO) antennas within the Company.

    The selected candidate will lead and work with diverse teams of engineers and scientists with backgrounds in Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESAs), Computational Electromagnetics Modeling, RF Test, Mechanical, Structural and Thermal analysis, Material Science, Process and Manufacturing Engineering and LO technology.

    The ideal candidate for this role will bring technical excellence, leadership, and creativity to our antenna development programs. You will interact with customers, participate in, and lead technical projects or tasks.

    This position requires some job duties to be performed onsite due to the sensitive nature of this work and the desire for in-person collaboration, however we offer flexible in-office hours and the ability to perform some job duties remotely.

    Responsibilities to Anticipate:


    Provide subject matter expertise in Stealth or Low Observable (LO) antennas and phased array antennas, radomes and LO hardware integration and associated material technologies.

    Exhibit exceptionally high level of innovation, creativity, and initiative.
    Support customer programs through modeling and simulation of antennas or RF components/systems and leading teams that perform these functions.

    Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems involving antenna/sensor-based applications such as radar, electronic warfare, electronic attack, electronic support measures, communications, geolocation, direction finding, etc.

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

    Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious while working across multiple Product Lines and Business Units.

    Mentor and guide more junior engineers and technicians in the design, build, and test phases of projects and programs.
    Must have the ability to obtain Special Program Access.


    Basic Qualifications:


    Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 12 years' of prior engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years' of prior engineering experience.

    Experience with Radar Cross Section (RCS) reduction of radomes, antennas, and/or phased arrays including, but not limited to analysis, design, fabrication and test.

    Experience with typical RF materials, modeling and use in LO applications.
    Experience with at least two full-wave analysis codes (e.g., HFSS, Xpatch, SENTRi, CARLOS3D, CST).
    Patents, Papers and/or Publications in related technical field.
    Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Electromagnetics

    16+ years' of direct work experience with Radar Cross Section (RCS) reduction of radomes, antennas, phased arrays including analysis, design, fabrication and test.

    Experience in core LO RF engineering and antenna theory and skills and general knowledge of other related disciplines.
    Experience leading a team and presenting technical data to stakeholders and customers in design reviews and technical interchange meetings.
    Experience assisting with the preparation and delivery of presentations and proposals.
    Experience implementing various design techniques (materials, shaping, etc.) for RCS mitigation where necessary.
    Experience with RCS data processing tools, such as Knowbell, Pioneer or Saber.

    10+ years' industry experience proposing and leading successful Contract and Internal R&D efforts to develop Low Observable RF apertures, components, and technology, including budget, schedule, tasking, and review of technical products.
