    Our Carpenters are responsible for designing, building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel.
    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. The following duties are listed both as trade specific and shared responsibilities:

    • Designs, constructs, remodels, retrofits and repairs interior and exterior structures made of wood, drywall, plaster, concrete or brick.
    • Designs, constructs, retrofits, and repairs cabinets, tables, shelves, benches, partitions, flooring, door and window frames, and other types of furniture. May install and repair modular furniture.
    • Cleans, maintains, adjusts, calibrates and services equipment used in the performance of duties.
    • Monitors work done by outside contractors for adherence to state and federal code requirements and reports back to superintendent
    • Assists with installs, repairs and maintains building roofs.
    • Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction as needed.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
    The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina.
    KNOWLEDGE
    • Thorough knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in both rough and finished carpentry in both residential and commercial/industrial settings
    • Working knowledge of and ability to apply building and safety code requirements
    • Methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment.
    REQUIREMENTS
    The safety of our employees is our number one priority. Candidates will be expected to know and follow TMG safety policy and procedures at all times. It is the responsibility of all employees to report any potential safety hazards to the superintendent as soon as they are identified. We have a zero tolerance policy for unsafe working practices.
    Candidates must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Post-hire, candidates may be selected for additional drug screenings at random, according to our company policy.
