The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, invites applications for Administrative Assistant III [R0150723]
ROLE of the POSITION
The Department of Sociology is seeking an Administrative Assistant III to support the department with general administrative duties, including serving as the front-office receptionist and point of contact for inquiries from faculty, staff, students, and the public.
In addition, the position provides support for the Graduate Coordinator in all areas related to graduate students, monitors budget accounts, assists with the maintenance of department equipment and orders, and maintains inventories of keys, printers, computers, and other equipment, prepares monthly photocopying audit reports, and maintains databases of syllabi and course rotations.
This is an on-campus position, Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm – No remote work option is available.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the following applications and equipment is desirable, but not required: Microsoft Office, Google Chrome and other web browsers, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Workday, MyUNLV, PC and MAC computers, HP printers, scanner machines, eFax, Xerox machine, ten-key calculator/adding machine, Cisco network telephone system, and 888P+ Scantron machine.

SALARY
Grade 27 Step 1, salary $46,207.44.
In accordance with Nevada Administrative Code (NAC , initial appointments to classified positions typically begin at Step 1 of the assigned grade.
A "Step" refers to the specific rate of pay within a grade, as determined by the Division of Human Resources.
