Description

Material Handler

Unloads, moves, and stores a variety of materials, parts, or products using standardized procedures

Unloads incoming materials:
checks identification, reports shortages or damage, moves, stores, stacks, and arranges

Moves materials between departments:
follow routing or tickets to fill orders from storage, stock or other departments

Loads materials for shipping:
place materials on pallets, trays, racks, etc., install strapping, bracing, or padding. May operate a power lift truck, hand truck, dolly, or other device. May be responsible for records of materials.

Required

Physical Requirements:

Possess fingertip and hand dexterity
Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm's length, push, pull, stoop, kneel, and crouch
Ability to lift and/or move 50 pounds
Ability to read and comprehend information on labels
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to work around hot machinery
Ability to work in an open warehouse environment, subject to seasonal weather (hot/cold)

Required Experience

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent
Must have good written and oral communication skills
Must have 2+ years of shipping experience in a manufacturing/warehouse setting
Forklift experience
Familiarity with inventory and scales
Follow oral and written instructions and work orders
Multitask, self-motivated, and work with little to no supervision
