    We are currently seeking a Director of Sales with strong leadership skills and a proven track record of building to build and maintain a high-performance sales organization that effectively achieves business objectives.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Create

    effective sales strategies :

    Develop and execute sales strategies that align with corporate objectives, leveraging market insights and trends to drive revenue growth.

    Generate

    Work closely with internal teams to develop proposals and sales documents, ensuring alignment with revenue goals and company strategy.

    Provide

    sales management and budget controls : Oversee sales management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and incentive planning, to ensure effective resource allocation and performance monitoring.

    Stay

    updated on food safety regulations and industry trends : Continuously monitor food safety regulations and industry trends, modifying sales strategies as needed to maintain a competitive edge.

    Provide

    s

    leadership and coaching :

    Lead the sales team through effective communication of vision, active coaching, and development, while monitoring sales results and taking corrective action when necessary.

    Develop

    s

    competencies and processes :
    Establish processes and competencies to build an efficient and effective sales organization, striving for excellence in performance.
    Prepare

    and manage sales forecasts :
    Develop and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts, adjusting strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.
    Maintain

    sales volume and product mix : Monitor market demand, changing trends, and competitor activities to maintain sales volume, product mix, and pricing competitiveness.

    Build

    strategic customer relationships :
    Collaborate with executive leaders to identify strategic accounts and negotiate contracts and agreements that support financial goals.

    Ensure effective onboarding, development, and ongoing training for sales team members, including understanding sales offerings and food safety requirements.

    Observe operational execution to assess service quality and customer expectations, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement.

    competitive knowledge :
    Stay informed about food safety regulations, recalls, and customer needs to adapt and refine sales strategies accordingly.
    Attend

    relevant meetings and conferences :
    Stay up to date by attending FDA, USDA, and other food safety meetings, seminars, and conferences.
    Adhere

    s


    to food safety and quality standards : Follow all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, enforcing adherence to standards and reporting any issues or irregularities.

    Qualifications

    (specific requirements needed to be qualified for the position)
    Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, food logistics or processing, or sciences and 8+ years of food safety or relevant experience
    10+ years of experience managing a direct sales force.
    Must be willing travel at a minimum of 50% of the time
    Residing in Houston, TX or Dallas, TX is preferred
    Proficient in both speaking and writing in Spanish preferred

    Skills:
    Proven ability to analyze business performance and manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement to meet objectives effectively.
    Experience and success in leading, developing, managing, and retaining high-performance sales teams.
    Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sales plans, consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
    Solid understanding of food safety, importing processes, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance and addressing related issues proactively.
    Exceptional ability to present information persuasively and negotiate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
    Skillful at building positive working relationships with internal teams, clients, and partners, fostering collaboration and trust.
    Proficient in developing strategic plans, project management, problem-solving, and leading change initiatives to drive business growth.

    Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills, essential for conveying vision, strategies, and objectives clearly to the sales team and stakeholders.

    Experience in developing strategies and training sales teams to emphasize the company's value proposition approach to selling, enhancing customer engagement and satisfaction.

    Accountable for creating, writing, designing, and producing

    marketing/communications

    materials for prospects and clients, effectively communicating the company's offerings and value proposition.

    Ability to create the vision and strategy to increase the quality of services delivered by the sales and marketing function, aligning with organizational objectives.

    Proficient in developing sales techniques and tools to build a "best in class" sales organization, driving efficiency and effectiveness in sales processes.

    Competent with Microsoft Office Suite and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, leveraging technology to support sales and marketing efforts effectively.

    Occasionally bend, twist, push, pull, climb, squat, crawl and kneel. Frequently uses computer, telephone, and writing instruments. Standing often while performing presentations. Time is spent in a refrigerated area standing and walking. Temperature in refrigerated area averages 41F. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the operation facility is high. The noise level in the office environment is usually quiet to moderate.
