Electrical Estimator Entry - Dallas, United States - Schwob Energy Services

Position Summary: Seeking Entry Level/ Experienced electrical apprentice to join our electrical estimating department in Dallas Texas. The candidate will work closely with other disciplines within the company in developing comprehensive and accurate estimates. You will learn conceptual estimating, budget development, cost planning, value engineering, and more.

Responsibilities/ Duties:

1. Analyze and interpret project documents.
2. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs.
3. Prepare competitive bid packages.
4. Review project documents and scope of work.
5. Participate in Prebid meetings and provide input based on challenging or unusual conditions.
6. Prepare and answer questions during the bid phase with customers/ clients.
7. Coordinate directly with the SCHWOB Estimators to make sure budgeting efforts are in line with the scope and schedule of the project.
8. 10% travel required.

Desired Skills:

1. Interest in learning and understanding estimating, and pre-construction.
2. Understanding of electrical construction installation methods, and ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
3. Minimum two years of experience as a field electrician.
4. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word) MS Project, and Nexus.
5. Estimating software is a plus.
6. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
7. Organized, efficient, detail oriented.
8. Strong math skills.

Education/ Experience:

Minimum two years of Electrical field experience.

Certificates/ Licenses:

1. TDLR Electrical Apprenticeship license for a minimum of two years.
