    LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Patent Prosecution Paralegal for an Am Law firm in DC. This role will play a crucial part in supporting attorneys and patent agents in the process of obtaining patents for clients. The Paralegal will provide essential support to attorneys and patent agents in the preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent applications. This opportunity is full time, and hybrid.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive searches to identify relevant prior art references using various databases and resources
    • Assist attorneys and patent agents in drafting patent applications, including preparing specifications, claims, and drawings
    • Prepare and file patent applications with the appropriate patent offices, ensuring compliance with all formal requirements and deadlines
    • Communicate with clients, patent examiners, and foreign associates regarding patent matters, including responding to office actions and requests for information
    • Maintain and manage patent dockets, tracking deadlines, and ensuring timely responses to office actions and other correspondence
    • Provide general administrative support to attorneys and patent agents, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and organizing documents
    • Assist with billing tasks, including preparing invoices and tracking billable hours related to patent prosecution work
    • Conduct legal and technical research as needed to support patent prosecution efforts
    • Organize and maintain patent files and databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of patent applications and related correspondence
    • Review patent documents for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with legal and procedural requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
    • Paralegal certification preferred
    • 3+ years' experience working as a Patent Prosecution Paralegal or in a related role within a law firm or corporate legal department
    • Strong understanding of patent law and the patent prosecution process.
    • Proficiency in conducting prior art searches using patent databases and other research tools
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; organized with strong attention to detail
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and patent management software

    Benefits:
    This posting is a representative sample of the roles we typically place with our clients in Washington, DC. Depending on the specific client, location within the state and role, the salary range is estimated to be $85,000 to $115,000 and benefits may include PTO, health, vision, and dental insurance.

    Pay Details: $85,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
