    Job Summary
    The Data Science team is part of our Data Science, Engineering and Analytics team within Effectv Technology, which is a diverse collection of professionals who work in a variety of organizational roles ranging from software engineering teams whose software integrates with analytics services, network architects and engineers, to service delivery engineers who provide support for our product, testers and operational stakeholders with all manner of information needs, and executives who rely on data for decision making. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for working cross-functionally to collect data and assist with developing models to determine trends utilizing a variety of data sources. Importing, cleaning, transforming, or manipulating data with the purpose of understanding and making conclusions from the data. The desired candidate will work with a team of talented data scientists, Big Data engineers, and software developers and play a key role in developing and delivering the next generation AI/ML solutions to the business. In collaboration with colleagues and leaders, the candidate will support decision-making by fostering a data-driven culture that allows uncertainty to be mitigated by delivering minimal viable solutions.
    Job Description
    Core Responsibilities

    • Analyze large amounts of data, extracting actionable insights using advanced techniques in data analysis, data mining, optimization, machine learning and statistics.
    • Build customer-centric models and optimization tools to support large scale projects that utilize online and offline data, structured and unstructured data, and media/behavioral/attitudinal data (e.g., predictive models, LTV, propensity models, recommender systems.).
    • Construct forecasts and develop recommendations in support of strategic/tactical plans, applying data science techniques to business data.
    • Create deliverables and presentations which effectively communicate and contextualize methodology, results of analysis, and business impact for technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Collaborate with a variety of teams within Effectv Technology (Engineering, Analytics, DataOps, MLOps), as well as stakeholder teams throughout Comcast Advertising.
    • Produce visualizations and reporting to support all phases of the data science project lifecycle.
    • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
    • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


    Skillset/Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree in a quantitative field preferred (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Science, etc).
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work and troubleshoot independently.
    • Proficiency in at least one language programming (Python, R, Scala) and SQL to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets.
    • Experience leveraging Spark (Spark SQL, Pyspark, or Scala) to query, manipulate, and pipeline data is a plus.
    • Knowledge of and working experience with a variety of machine learning techniques and understanding of their real-world advantages and drawbacks. (Tree-based models, ensemble techniques, clustering, deep learning, time series).
    • Knowledge of unstructured data and natural language processing techniques.
    • Experience with deep learning and computer vision a plus.
    • Experience working in common cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and development environments (Databricks, Jupyter notebooks).
    • Ability to effectively and concisely communicate complex data-related topics to, and manage the expectations of, business stakeholders and leadership.
