    Primary Scheduled Hours:
    Full time 80 hours per pay period - Variable Shifts

    Job Summary:
    Provides respiratory assessment, support, treatment or diagnostic test for acute care, emergency room or outpatient as needed.

    • Newport Hospital and Health Services consists of: 24 bed Rural Community Hospital - Trauma Level IV
    • 15 providers Rural Health Clinic
    • 72 bed, high level care, Advanced Assisted Living Facility
    • 42 apartment; low-moderate care level Assisted Living Facility
    • In 2021 we celebrated our 100th year in operation servicing the local members of Newport, WA and the surrounding communities.
    Education Background and Experience


    Minimum Education:
    Associates degree required from an Accredited Respiratory Care Program


    Required Licensure / Certifications:
    Certified Respiratory Therapist WA license (RRT or CRT NBRC Credential), BLS, ACLS/PALS/NRP within 90 days


    Required Experience:
    Critical Care Experience

    • Maintain regulatory requirements.
    • Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines.
    • Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District.
    • Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner.
    Essential Job Functions


    • Provide emergency care, such as artificial respiration, or assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
    • Monitor patient's physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, or blood chemistry changes, and consult with physician if adverse reactions occur.
    • Obtains ABGs, EKGs and other testing as appropriate
    • Set up and operate devices, such as, high flow oxygen, Bipap, mechanical ventilators, environmental control systems, or aerosol generators, following specified parameters of treatment.
    • Evaluate and update policies for evidence based practice and regulatory guidelines that pertain to area of expertise.
    • Support clinical team regarding area of expertise through training or instruction.
    • Work as part of a team of physicians, nurses, or other healthcare professionals to manage patient care by assisting with medical procedures or related duties.
    • Maintain confidentiality of patients' pertinent identification and therapy information.

    Compensation/How We Care For You:


    Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range ($29.81 $35.11/hourly) dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation increment increases annually.
