    Description

    General Summary:

    Under the supervision of the Accounts Payables Supervisor, the Lead Payables & Receivable is responsible for ensuring that accounts payable and accounts receivable entries are accurately processed in a timely and efficient manner.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Essential Functions:
    • Reviews and approves accounts payable and receivable transactions.
    • Provides leadership to accounts payable and receivables team.
    • Supports setup of new vendors, customers, and general ledger accounts into financial software.
    • Records accounts payable and receivable transactions conforming to standard procedures in entering data into the financial software.
    • Manages accounts payable to ensure timely payments to vendors.
    • Manages accounts receivable to ensure invoices are provided to customers, and payment is received within the assigned terms.
    • Supports Accounts Payable Clerks with matching details of vendor invoices to source documents.
    • Prepares payables and receivables balance sheet accounts reconciliations.
    • Communicates with vendors, customers, and staff members regarding all aspects of the accounts payable and receivable process.
    • Researches and resolve issues associated with accounts payable and receivable.
    • Assists with the preparations of cost allocations, standard operating procedures, and other financial reports.
    • Ensures the proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records.
    • Assists with the preparation of budgets.
    • Assists with audits.
    • Prepares yearly 1099 forms.
    • Prepares and posts journal entry transactions.
    • Assists with month-end and year-end close.
    Other Duties/Responsibilities
    • Ensures compliance with all Goodwill Industries Sacramento Valley Northern Nevada policies, and safety and security regulations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Basic Qualifications of the Role:
    • Minimum of three (3) year experience in basic accounting.
    • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
    • Ability to demonstrate problem solving skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office. Proficiency in NetSuite is preferred, but not required.
    • Must not present a direct threat to the safety and health of self, others or property.
    • No record or disclosure of criminal conviction that indicates a tendency toward theft, violence, dishonesty, deceit, drug manufacture or sale, moral turpitude, or predatory behavior.
    • Must provide proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States of America.
