In this role, you will gain hands-on experience working with and supporting enterprise-level network security solutions such as firewalls, firewall policies, SIEM solutions such as Splunk, security automation tools, and more. Through hands-on technical involvement, you'll not only acquire practical skills but also gain insight into the intricacies of securing a large enterprise. You'll collaborate closely with our seasoned technical experts within the engineering team, offering a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in real-world security practices.
We're looking for a candidate who can support this role from one of our following locations: Orlando - FL, Reston - VA, Gaithersburg – MD or Remote Telework.

Primary Responsibilities
· Learn how to operate and manage Next Gen Firewalls.
· Learn how to interpret network logs on our SIEM platform to perform traffic analysis.
· Gain experience participating and tracking corporate projects.
· Update and maintain standard operating procedures for operations team members.
· Provide feedback to team leadership to improve existing solutions so they better meet the business' needs.
· Help customers from around the enterprise troubleshoot and resolve their network security related issues.
· Collaborate with teams from other technical disciplines.
Basic Qualifications
· Candidates should be pursuing a degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field.
· US citizenship is required.
· Basic understanding of networking principles, protocols (such as TCP/IP), and network devices (routers, switches, firewalls). Courses or experience in networking fundamentals would be beneficial.
· Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, including encryption, authentication, access control, and security protocols. Courses or experience in cybersecurity fundamentals would be beneficial.
· This is a 100% remote position; candidate must possess the necessary discipline to work from home without distraction.
Preferred Qualifications
· Basic understanding of common security threats and counter measures.
· Proficiency in programming languages such as Python
· Experience with Automation tools and platforms
· Basic knowledge of scripting for automation tasks and familiarity with APIs.
· Experience with enterprise-level Firewalls.
· Security / Networking Professional Certifications

Pay Range:
Pay Range $44, $81,075.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
