    Position Summary

    The Network Engineer I position is responsible for configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing customer-facing and internal data and voice communication networks for Atlantech Online.

    They will ensure network maintenance is performed in a timely manner with minimum impact to availability and capacity.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
    Configure, test, troubleshoot, deploy, and validate operations of network equipment supporting customer facing services.
    Work directly with Sales, Installations and Support staff to ensure service delivery metrics are being met.
    Provide Tier 3 support for Event Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management.
    Document troubleshooting procedures in internal ticketing system.
    Provide technical training for less experienced staff.
    Participate in Change Management and Project Management processes.
    Monitor and regularly report on Service Availability and Service Capacity.
    Configure, test, troubleshoot, deploy, and validate operations of network equipment supporting corporate enterprise services.
    Occasional local travel required. Take part in 24/7 on-call rotation.
    Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
    High School Diploma, GED Equivalent required.
    CCNA-SP, JNCIS-SP, or other comparable network certifications a plus, but not required.

    3 to 5 years of relevant experience; Minimum of 3 years of experience in advanced troubleshooting of large networks

    Experience with Cisco and/or Juniper Switching, Routing, and Security products.
    Experience with internal (IS-IS/OSPF) and external (BGP) routing protocols.
    Experience with Unified Communications deployments, Quality of Service (QoS) policies and VoIP troubleshooting
    Experience with Firewalls, VPNs, and other Network Security technologies
    Experience with MPLS networks and services such as L3VPN, EoMPLS, VPLS, EVPN, etc.
    Experience with Layer 2 technologies such as VLANs, Q-in-Q, STP, etc.
    Experience with Fiber, Copper and other networking media
    Access to reliable transportation required. Candidates with a valid driver's license and knowledge of the DC Metro area are preferred.
    Excellent Customer Service skills
    Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and technical writing proficiency

    Note:
    This position is 100% on site at Atlantech's office and is not a remote position.

    This position does not include a relocation allowance and therefore we are seeking candidates who currently reside in the Metro DC area.
