    First Command was founded in 1958 by a retired military officer who was enthusiastic about helping service members and their families strengthen their financial security. The company is seeking administrative assistant who shares this passion for our mission and who can support the leaders and team responsible for solutions offered through the financial coaching relationship with our clients. Provide administrative support to the SVP, Digital Solutions Strategy and the SVP, Financial Solutions Strategy under minimal supervision. Position will require the ability to multi-task on a daily basis, always exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.

    What will you be doing?

    • Handling all aspects of meeting planning to include coordinating schedules, arranging teleconference calls, preparing agendas and presentation materials
    • Onboarding of new employees to include equipment and systems access requests.
    • Assist in the development and formatting of PowerPoint presentations and other briefing materials.
    • Distribute daily mail and arrange for FedEx Mail-outs and place departmental supply orders.
    • Make travel arrangements for conferences.
    • Prepare Accounts Payable, Reimbursement forms and Request for Absence.
    • Participate in and support the organization and planning of departmental gatherings and events.

    What skills/qualifications do you need?

    Education

    • High School Graduate (bachelor's degree preferred)

    Work Experience

    • 5+ years of administrative experience in a fast-paced environment.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Strong writing and communication abilities with prior administrative support experience.
    • Must have excellent Microsoft Office Suite (and keyboard) proficiency to include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
    • Excellent judgment, integrity, time management, organization, and interpersonal skills as well as problem solving and logistics aptitude.
    • Ability to take initiative, work independently with little supervision and to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
    • Understanding of our military market preferred.
    • Digital and financial product management executive support preferred.
    • Financial Services Industry experience is a plus.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Experience:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Two years in a clinical environment with data processing/specimen handling experience. Graduate of heath/ medical assistant or similar training program at an accredited institution where general laboratory technique is taught.

    Language Ability:

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Math Ability:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must have the ability to perform all duties with accuracy and attention to detail

    Computer Skills:

    Ability to use Laboratory Information System in addition to various other software programs
