- Programs include DoD Fit Standard compliance, Physical Readiness programming, Organized Fitness Programming, equipment procurement, Sports, Fitness, Aquatics, and inventory control oversight Sets standards, Provides vision and serves as a model for fitness programs Navy-wide
- Incumbent supervises Recreation Specialists (Fitness/Trainers) and Recreation Assistant college interns (when on staff) and volunteers
- Responsibilities include training, supervising, scheduling, and evaluating all employees within the fitness department
- Incumbent will conduct interviews and recommend selection of all new hires within the fitness department, initiate appropriate disciplinary action, hear and resolve employee complaints
- Incumbent be able to set priorities, develop, execute and evaluate a comprehensive fitness program annual calendar and establish schedules for work completion

Support the Military's Quality of Life programs The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Branch; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); Naval Base Kitsap - Bangor.
