    Description


    Precision machine shop in Kalispell Montana manufacturing commercial rocket engine components is seeking a machinist to machine precision parts using CNC mills and/or lathes following engineering drawings and verbal instructions.


    Responsibilities:

    • Plans, lays out work, sets up and operates all types of lathes, mills or grinders to machine or grind developmental, production or maintenance parts to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
    • Expected to mentor junior machinists.
    • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
    Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM


    Skills:

    • Experience in GibbsCAM, MasterCAM or Esprit.
    • Working knowledge of G-Code
    • Big lathe and 5axis experience a big plus
    • Strong math skill/proficient in GD&T
    • Must be customer focused and possess:
    • Ability to perform complex set up and fabrication of machined parts with little or no direction;
    • In depth knowledge of machining equipment including ability to use judgment and safe practices;
    • Ability to read, interpret and explain engineering drawings, sketches and verbal and written instructions;
    • Skills to maintain the flow of work within the unit using independent judgment in solving moderately to highly complex problems and recommend solutions.
    • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate tactfully and effectively in a technical environment and basic computer skills.
    • The ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.

    Education:
    High School

    Experience:

    10+ years


    Qualifications:

    • Typically requires a High School Diploma, technical/trade school training or equivalent
    -10+ plus years related experience

    • Must be a US Citizen as defined by ITAR.
