    Position Summary:

    The Investment Services Intern is responsible for supporting the Financial Advisors and Investment Department Assistant. This position is designed to allow high potential candidates to learn more about brokerage/investment advice and credit union business, and assess their career interest in these industries. The goal of this internship is for the individual to acquire knowledge of financial advising practice through hands-on experience.

    *Employees are expected to adhere to all rules and regulations applicable to this position, including but not limited to all policies and procedures pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Must adhere to applicable regulatory requirements and/or CUNA procedures.

    Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

    Administrative Duties:

    * Assist Advisors with client servicing (address changes, questions/transactions on accounts, account changes, etc.)

    * Observe client meetings to learn about investment products and needs of various members.

    * Answer and return telephone calls/emails for Advisors and handle servicing issues in a timely manner.

    * Distribute, review, and handle department mail.

    * Schedule appointments with clients on behalf of the Advisors, as well as make outbound calls to confirm appointments via phone or email.

    * Use Sales Force CRM Software to assist in tracking referrals, prospects, future follow up dates, and build campaigns.

    * Review paperwork for accuracy and completeness before submission.

    * Follow up with Advisors, clients, or CUNA to obtain necessary documentation when needed.

    * Establish and maintain client files to meet compliance requirements to ensure audit requirements are met.

    Client/Prospect Development

    * Assist in the execution of marketing plans.

    * Assist in the planning, implementation and tracking of results for marketing events, campaigns and seminars.

    * Follow-up with outbound client calls as needed.

    * Prepare reports for department as needed.

    Credit Union Liaison

    * Help track branch referrals as well as plan and track contest results for the credit union.



    Required Skills


    Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

    * Education and Credentials

    o Must have completed two years towards an undergraduate program and currently enrolled in college preferably in Personal Finance or Business.

    * Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    o Strong computer skills including MS Word and Excel.

    o Must display critical thinking skills and strong initiative to learn.

    o Strong attention to detail.

    o Ability to set priorities and work independently to accomplish tasks.

    o Ability to perform multiple tasks while maintaining good organizational skills.

    o Ability to work well under pressure and with interruptions.

    o Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, in a professional manner when dealing with employees, members, and vendors.
