Observe and practice all governmental safety regulations, project requirements, and company safety policies.
Analyzes and recommends corrective action for all accidents.
Point of contact for Owner/Client Safety Representatives
Post all safety bulletins, safety posters, safety rules, and applicable legislation.
Coordinate the transportation of injured employees to a physician's office or hospital.
Maintain relations with project physicians, the workers' compensation case nurse, ambulance service, fire department, and hospitals.
Perform and document job site inspections as required by contractors
Oversees random drug policies and testing
Provide training for OSHA and DOT topics
Interact with all personnel on safety issues
Order and maintain inventory for all safety equipment
Prepare, submit, maintain, file, and record all safety paperwork. (Weekly Tool-Box talks, etc.)
Obtain and manage SDS's for all materials and chemicals for the company Haz-Com Program.
Serve as the Point of Contact for all scheduled and unscheduled governmental (OSHA) inspections. Accompany inspectors and document their activity, participate in opening and closing conferences, ensure prompt correction of all noted discrepancies, follow through with formal and informal conferences/meetings and follow company Safety Policy procedures for governmental inspections.
Work with HR to set up a new employee onboarding process for safety
Enforce preventative measures
Train, manage, and guide your staff
Review driver qualifications
Renew vehicle registration and maintain current commercial drivers list for all vehicles.
Process and qualify paperwork for new drivers (CDL and Commercial).
Review all logbooks/hours of service and driver-related paperwork.
Ensure vehicles are equipped with required safety equipment
Handle Workers Compensation cases and reports with the insurance company.
Maintain OSHA logs.
Maintain and update employee qualifications (training and certificates for attended employees).
Assist management with pre-qualification information for new jobs
Order and maintain inventory for company clothing.
**Summary/Objective**
Plans, implements, and coordinates Ace/Avant's safety program to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions. Also, works with the project team to ensure that the best possible outcome is achieved, with the following expectations:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee may occasionally be exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
**Physical Demands**
The employee may lift heavy objects, lifts objects weighing up to 50 lbs., pulls & pushes objects weighing up to 100 lbs. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work**
This is a full-time position. This position may require long hours and weekend work.
**Travel**
Out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
