    Description

    Job Title: Diabetes Nurse Educator

    The Diabetes Nurse Educator utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the practice of nursing.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice.
    • Educates individuals and groups on healthy living practices related to diabetes management.

    Certifications required include Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) within 3 years; Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor within 30 days. Bachelor's Degree: Nursing is also required.
