- The Vice President of Finance will report to the General Manager regarding policy, purpose, responsibilities, authority, and administrative matters.
- Oversees preparation of reports and statistics reflecting earning, profits, cash balances, and other financial results, including business plans, annual operating and capital budgeting preparation and presentation.
- Formulates and administers approved accounting practices throughout the property to assure the financial and operation reports accurately reflect the condition of the property.
- Accountable for the accuracy and timeliness of financial records and financial reports. Provides reliable information necessary to control operations.
- Ensures property cash flow is adequate by monitoring daily and reviewing weekly cash forecasts.
- Implements policies, procedures, and actions as appropriate to control and protect the company's assets and address recommendations identified in internal and/or external audits.
- Ensures performance and productivity are monitored in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for the preparation and control of records and data, the control of stored data, the control of unused forms, the accounting for and comparison of operational data and forms, and the control and supervision of the inventory of gaming chips, the issuance of credit, the main cage, satellite cages and the count room.
- Ensures departmental operations in the Cashiering, Purchasing, Planning & Analysis, Finance, Credit, Count Team, and Payroll are in compliance with applicable regulatory agency requirements (i.e., Federal, State, Local, Gaming, etc.)
- Advises and keeps Corporate Chief Financial Officer and General Manager informed of all relevant financial issues affecting the property.
- Ensures departmental Managers/Supervisors continually and consistently reinforce safety and accident prevention measures.
- Directs the operations of assigned areas. Ensures departmental Managers/Supervisors schedule staff in accordance with business volume.
- Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures.
- Works effectively with management, corporate, regulating agencies, and external accounting professionals.
- Applies leadership skills required to motivate staff and attain a high level of productivity and accountability.
- Responsible for all finance functions including, the control and supervision of the inventory of gaming chips, cage, satellite cage and the issuance of credit.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA preferred
- Ten to fifteen years casino finance experience required including oversight of both gaming and non-gaming finance departments.
- Knowledge of accounting and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Key Gaming License
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Able to interact with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
