- Interpret the organization's mission, philosophy, and values into a coherent plan for patient care delivery. Supervise patient care delivery, patient and family experience, and quality outcomes through evidence-based practices.
- Take charge of the financial aspects for the service line; recognize revenue-generating opportunities and strategies for cost reduction. Monitor, analyze, and act upon financial data associated with the service line.
- Formulate and oversee the strategic direction, business growth, and financial goals for the service line. Anticipate future resource requirements, both capital and operational.
- Ensure adherence to policies, accreditation standards, and legal regulations across all departments. Handle provider and vendor contracts as necessary.
- Seek input from physicians and act as a primary liaison to the medical staff for supported units. Maintain effective communication with physicians in a timely manner.
- Introduce well-founded conceptual strategies based on tangible data. Offer practical solutions to challenges, implement processes for performance enhancement, evaluate and report on outcomes, and capitalize on areas for improvement.
- Uphold excellent leadership within the service line. Provide guidance to subordinates while fostering their development through the necessary authority, accountability, and responsibilities to perform effectively. Cultivate a work environment that encourages growth, teamwork, and self-realization.
- Integrate technological innovations, such as cutting-edge medical equipment, methods, and services. Make optimal use of information technology tools and their integration.
- Develop programs to reinforce and expand service capabilities within the service line, and market services to potential referral sources.
- Eliminate barriers within the service line and between other service areas. Facilitate team communication to ensure quality, safety, and a positive patient experience organization-wide.
- Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is mandatory.
- Five years of progressive managerial experience in healthcare operations and nursing (clinical, operational, and managerial) is essential.
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Current licensure in the state of the facility's location or, if under the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license from a participating NLC state. New hires and existing employees with an out-of-state NLC license who relocate to the state of the facility have 60 days post-residency change to apply for licensure within that state.
