Senior Tableau Solution Architect & Consultant (Salesforce Practice)

Reports To: Business Intelligence Practice Lead

Intro

Ateko is seeking a seasoned Senior Tableau Solution Architect to take ownership of our most complex analytics deliverables. This is not a role for someone looking to simply "build dashboards". This role is for a strategic technical leader who can work with current and prospective clients to architect scalable solutions, bridge the gap between Salesforce data and Tableau visualization, and drive client adoption.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our analytics offering, from gathering requirements with business leaders to optimizing server performance and mentoring internal team members. We provide best-in-class training to help you bridge the gap between Tableau and Salesforce Data Cloud.

Responsibilities

Strategic Development & Architecture

• Executive Consulting & Requirements Gathering: Act as a strategic consultant, engaging directly with C-suite and senior stakeholders to translate high-level business objectives and challenges into clear, measurable data and reporting requirements, proactively identifying potential data quality or process blockers that could impact downstream development, and design the optimal Tableau-based solutions.
• Architect Scalable Solutions: Design and implement robust Tableau technical solutions that go beyond basic reporting. Utilize advanced functionality (LOD expressions, Tableau Pulse, complex parameters, set actions) to solve intricate business problems for our clients.
• Salesforce Integration: Architect the embedding strategy within Salesforce. Partner with Salesforce Developers to assist in the design of Lightning Web Pages/Components and ensure a seamless user experience between Tableau and Salesforce. 
• Have a working understanding of how Tableau and Salesforce Data 360 (Data Cloud) integrate with each other especially as it relates to Tableau Next.
• Performance Optimization: Proactively monitor dashboard and Tableau server performance, refactor inefficient workbooks and optimize SQL queries to ensure quick rendering times, even when handling massive datasets.

Data Governance & Server Management

• Semantic Data Modeling: Move beyond flat-file thinking. You will design multi-fact schemas and relationship-based models (The Tableau Semantic Layer) that allow for flexible, governed self-service analysis.
• Security Architecture: Lead the design of robust security frameworks, specifically Row-Level Security (RLS) strategies using user entitlements, Salesforce integration, and JWT (JSON Web Tokens) to ensure data is seen only by the right people.
• Server/Cloud Governance: Oversee client Tableau Server/Cloud environments, including project hierarchy, refresh schedules, and site roles.

Consulting & Mentorship

• Stakeholder Partnership: Act as the primary consultant for business leaders. Translate ambiguous business requirements into intuitive, actionable, and high-impact Tableau solutions.
• Mentorship: Serve as the Tableau technical lead for the BI team. Mentor team members on all things Tableau, data modeling, and advanced techniques to elevate the team's overall capability.
• Data Storytelling: Champion the art of data storytelling, ensuring that every deliverable communicates a clear narrative that aids decision-making.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in Data Visualization and Business Intelligence, with specific experience in an enterprise consulting or agency environment.
• Certifications: Salesforce Certified Tableau Data Analyst, Salesforce Certified Tableau Architect (or legacy Tableau Desktop Certified Professional) certification.
• Technical Experience: Expert-level proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Cloud with a good working knowledge of Server. Comfortable working with LOD Expressions, Tableau Relationships (Semantics) and advanced calculations. You should be comfortable building from a blank canvas without templates.
• Salesforce Ecosystem: Strong familiarity with the Salesforce Object Model and how to effectively visualize CRM data. (Note: You do not need to be an Apex developer, but you must understand how Salesforce data is structured).
• Data Engineering: While you don't need to be a DBA, be comfortable writing and optimizing SQL queries. Familiarity of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and medallion/star/snowflake schema data modeling.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent advanced professional experience).

Bonus Points If you Have:

• Bilingualism: Proficiency in French is a bonus as we expand our French-speaking client base

Preferred Skills

• Cloud Platforms: Experience working with modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Google BigQuery).
• Advanced Analytics: Familiarity with Python or R for statistical modeling or advanced data transformation.
• Salesforce Data 360 (Data Cloud): Experience/Interest in learning and working with Salesforce Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud) and Tableau Next.
• AI Adoption: Experience implementing or utilizing AI-powered analytics tools (such as Tableau Pulse or Einstein Discovery).

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical complexity and business value.
