    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Director of Admissions for Southern California drives the development and execution of an admission plan for assigned operating units within assigned service line's programs that result in an excess of budgeted admissions and activities that support Elwyn California's strategic plan.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelops, secures approval, and implements a comprehensive and diverse marketing plan for all residential programs within Elwyn California Adult IDD service line to ensure the continuous growth of admissions into and expansion of services providedUtilizes metrics and reporting tools to track and report growth progress of admissions and expansion of services offered within Elwyn of California to ensure objectives of the strategic plan and continuous growth sustainability are metIdentifies trends, both positive and negative, that impact marketing and admissions and shares this feedback along with recommended solutions to the leaders within impacted programs to ensure continuous growth of service offerings and sustainability in all program areasDevelops and maintains solid working and fruitful relationships with community members, agencies, and others who can support the strategic objections and marketing and admission plan of Elwyn California through activities including but not limited to face-to-face meetings, committee memberships, and relationship building within higher levels of referring organizations to encourage the use of Elwyn California programs as appropriateJoins and maintains membership in community organizations, committees, advocacy groups and regularly attends meetings of each to establish an Elwyn California's presence in the communityDevelops a referral source database, along with community contacts, to assist with marketing and admissions to the programDevelops and maintains positive relationships and nurtures confidence of funding agencies and with others who provide material support to Elwyn California's mission to instill confidence and to ensure growth and expansion of overall provision of servicesDemonstrates the Corporate Core Values and Mission and culture in daily workMonitors changes in competitive practices, rules, regulations, and lawsLiaises with the regional centers in California, overseen by the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS), to ensure alignment of services and bed availabilityDevelops and implements comprehensive marketing and admissions plans to grow admissions and expand services, in coordination with regional center offeringsWorks closely with regional centers for assessments, eligibility determinations, and case management services, ensuring seamless integration with Elwyn California's servicesCoordinates with regional centers to develop and align services with each individual supported Individual Program Plan (IPP)Tracks and reports on growth and service expansion using metrics and toolsActively promotes admissions, building and maintaining census in collaboration with regional centersReviews pre-admission information for eligibility, including liaison with regional centers for insurance verificationCommunicates with referral sources, including regional centers, DDS Offices, and others for recruitment and relationship maintenanceSupports families and providers throughout the Admissions process, ensuring compatibility with regional center processesEnsures eligibility for care, including coordination with regional centers for FFS and Tier appropriateness for IDD referralsAssesses potential IDD referrals in conjunction with regional center evaluationsIdentifies appropriate placements, collaborating with regional centers to prevent barriers to admissionGenerates and maintains accurate reports on progress, status, and average weekly census in coordination with regional center dataRepresents the organization at professional conferences and public events, including those involving regional centersFollows policies and procedures and cooperate with inspections and investigationsPerforms other duties as assignedEDUCATION/SKILLS/


    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, psychology, education, business or public administration, marketing, communications, or related fields; in lieu of undergraduate degree, equivalent years of directly related experience may be considered in addition to required experience belowThree (3) years' experience with development of comprehensive marketing and admission plans for multiple programs concurrently where goals were met or exceededExperience within the California adult intellectual developmental and disability industryDemonstrated applied clinical service program operation and service delivery knowledge to those with adult intellectual developmental and disabilityExperience in not-for-profit businessAffiliations with service and industry associationsDemonstrated exceptional skills in customer interaction, collaboration, verbal communication, and developing and facilitating presentations; demonstrated strong written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to set and achieve aggressive goalsDemonstrated ability to track and report goals and resultsDemonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a teamAbility to develop solutions managing multiple constituencies and points of viewAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, prioritiesDemonstrated strong attention to detailDemonstrated strong time management and organizational skillsDemonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervisionDemonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actionsDemonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Publisher and report-writer experience preferredMust have current, valid driver's license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving recordExperience using/knowledge of Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS/
