    Maintenance Mechanic (Process Maintenance Mechanic)

    Location: Vacaville, CA

    Position Type: Contingent / Contract

    Contract Duration: 12 months

    Shift Options:

    Multiple openings available across Day and Night shifts

    Day Shift

    • Front Half: Sunday – Wednesday (rotating 3-4-3 Wednesday)
    • Back Half: Wednesday – Saturday (rotating 3-4-3 Wednesday)

    Night Shift

    • Front Half: Saturday – Tuesday (rotating 3-4-3 Saturday)
    • Back Half: Wednesday – Saturday (rotating 3-4-3 Saturday)
    • Mandatory Training: First 10 weeks on Day Shift (Mon–Fri, 8 hrs/day)

    Position Summary

    The Process Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maximizing equipment availability by safely performing preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on manufacturing and support equipment in a regulated GMP environment.

    This role supports 24/7 operations across manufacturing, laboratories, utilities, and materials management.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform preventive, corrective, and repetitive maintenance on:
    • Valves, pumps, centrifuges, autoclaves, washers, tanks, piping, and related equipment
    • Rebuild pumps, valves, bearing assemblies, and mechanical seals
    • Ensure Right-First-Time documentation and timely completion of work orders
    • Comply with cGMP, SOPs, and manufacturing documentation requirements
    • Escalate equipment and process issues to ensure timely resolution
    • Safely operate tools, shop equipment, and perform field maintenance activities
    • Utilize CMMS, corporate systems, and standard computer applications
    • Support equipment start-up, commissioning, and validation activities
    • Read and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
    • Review SOPs and provide redline feedback when required
    • Assist with spare parts identification, purchasing, and organization
    • Collect and organize technical data from equipment manufacturers, users, and engineering
    • Train and mentor other mechanics in group and individual settings
    • Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and comply with all safety policies
    • Conduct confined space entry and work at heights as required
    • Perform safety inspections of rigging and fall protection equipment
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Technology, Utilities, and Materials Management teams

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma
    • 5–6 years of relevant industrial or process maintenance experience
    • Strong understanding of industrial process maintenance systems
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with reasonable accommodations
    • Valid driver's license
    • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
    • Ability to work effectively in regulated manufacturing environments

    Preferred Experience

    • GMP manufacturing or biopharmaceutical environment
    • Experience supporting utilities, laboratories, or cleanroom equipment
