    North Shore Trust- Loan Originator Assistant

    Job Function:

    Provides quality loan processing and reviewing of files for adherence to underwriting standards and ensuring completeness of submission. Acts as a liaison between origination and underwriting.

    Essential Duties:
    • Manage new file intake, ensuring compliance documents are timely and complete, communicate with clients for necessary documentation, input accurate client data into loan processing software, collaborate with clients to complete application forms accurately, review and analyze files for accuracy, including income and assets verification, and provide lenders with required documentation.
    • Provide timely responses to customer inquiries and related parties throughout transactions.
    • Coordinate with lending institutions and underwriting teams to ensure prompt processing of loan applications, while resolving any approval or suspense conditions as specified.
    • Process loans to meet contract deadlines and rate lock expiration dates, while maintaining a calendar of important dates and deadlines for loan applications.
    • Assist in clearing post-closing exceptions received by investors to prevent financial loss, while also following up on loan statuses and updating clients accordingly.
    • Order FHA and VA case numbers on government sites and prepare/distribute relevant communications as needed.
    • Coordinate all aspects of submission to underwriting, while assisting in preparing and submitting loan applications to lenders or underwriting teams.
    • Review and update pipeline reports with loan officers for accuracy, schedule and manage appointments, meetings, and events for clients on behalf of the mortgage loan officer and collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless customer experience.
    • Prioritize workflow to ensure sensitive files are handled and stored in the appropriate manner and organize/maintain digital and physical files securely.
    • Manage a pipeline of loans for multiple loan officers while assisting team members with tasks as needed to maintain a cohesive and efficient workflow.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, guidelines, and governmental regulations, staying updated on industry changes and policies, and ensuring documentation and processes adhere to both regulatory and company policies.
    Qualifications:

    Education:
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
    • College degree preferred.
    • MUST be bilingual in Spanish.
    • Experience
    • 2 years working with mortgage loans.
    • Experience processing mortgage, commercial, or consumer loans a plus.
    • NMLS License
    • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow process and maintain a consistent standard of quality.
    • Knowledge of lending products, policies, and procedures.
    • Ability to work as a team player to accomplish departmental goals.
    • Ability to perform independently with accurately under deadline pressures.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with Loan Underwriters, Loan Processors, and customers.
    • Ability to research and determine incomplete, inaccurate, or missing information.
    Availability:
    • Primary Availability - Monday thru Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
    • Secondary Availability - As needed to satisfy loan production deadlines.
