    Air Quality Principal

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an Air Quality Principal to lead our practice and drive expansion into new markets. This role involves a blend of technical expertise, business development, and leadership, with significant opportunities for career growth within the firm and the broader industry. The Air Quality Principal will work with clients from project conception through completion, manage project teams, and coordinate with regional and senior managers.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Leadership: Lead the air quality team, providing technical guidance and project management for air quality permitting, regulatory compliance, and pollution control. This includes oversight of project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

    Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact with clients, ensuring high levels of service. Build and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders. Develop new business by preparing proposals, presentations, and leading client meetings.

    Air Quality Expertise: Prepare and review air permit applications, including Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD), New Source Review (NSR), and Title V permits. Conduct emissions calculations and regulatory analyses for compliance with federal and state regulations, including the Clean Air Act.

    Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with air quality regulations at all levels, including state and federal. Manage regulatory approvals, and communicate with regulatory agencies to coordinate requirements. Develop and submit environmental compliance reports.

    Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor a team of air quality professionals. Provide technical guidance and oversee project delivery. Ensure high-quality work through regular quality assurance and control reviews.

    Business Development: Identify and cultivate new clients for industrial Clean Air Act services. Maintain high visibility in the market through client contacts, attendance at industry events, and presentations at conferences. Contribute to strategic decision-making and business planning.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Meteorology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

    A minimum of 10 years of experience in air quality consulting, with a focus on Clean Air Act permitting and compliance.

    Demonstrated experience with air quality regulations, including Title V, NSR, and PSD permits, and familiarity with air pollution dispersion modeling.

    Strong business development skills and experience leading project teams.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Professional Engineer or other relevant professional registration is preferred.
