    Cancer RegistrarJoin our team as a Cancer Registrar and contribute to our mission of improving community health in Fort Worth, Texas.


    Position Highlights:

    • Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth- 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Ft. Worth, TX 76104
    • Work environment: Disease Registries
    • Work hours: Full Time; Monday through Friday; 8 am to 5 pm

    Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Associate's degree in Health Information or related field preferred
    • Completion of Cancer Registry Management Program preferred

    Experience:

    • 6 months of Cancer Registry experience preferred
    • No experience with Cancer Registry Management Program completion preferred

    Licenses:

    • CTR – Certified Tumor Registrar required within 3 years of hire

    Skills:

    • Knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology
    • Ability to analyze statistical data and communicate effectively
    • Computer skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work under supervision and maintain patient records

    Position Responsibilities:

    Abstracting:

    • Applies abstracting and coding knowledge accurately
    • Completes daily analysis of medical records for oncology patients
    • Maintains case reporting records

    Treatment Collection/Follow-up:

    • Obtains treatment information for oncology patients
    • Updates patient records in the database

    Quality:

    • Assists in data compilation and reporting
    • Participates in quality improvement projects
