- Conduct assessments to determine students' orientation and mobility needs.
- Develop and implement individualized orientation and mobility plans for students with visual impairments.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in developing orientation skills, including spatial awareness, route planning, and navigation techniques.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to integrate orientation and mobility goals into students' educational plans.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction and strategies as needed.
- Provide training and support to school staff and parents on orientation and mobility techniques and strategies.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Orientation and Mobility or related field.
- Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS).
- Experience working with students with visual impairments preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Part-time position: 3 days a week.
