Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Gender Affirmation Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP).
This role will provide outpatient support to our Gender Affirmation surgeons in the outpatient clinic four days/week and in the OR one day/week.

Sole Advanced Practice Provider in Gender Affirmation Surgery
Five-day, eight-hour shift schedule, no call, no weekends
Outpatient clinic, first assist in the OR and rare inpatient responsibilitiesPreferred Qualifications:
Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in surgical related specialty, including robotics, is preferred. Relevant RN experience may be considered.
APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification and First Assistant Certification.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws.
The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care.The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards.
Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.Rush has over 400 APPs across the enterprise that provide comprehensive patient care each day autonomously and in collaboration with other members of the health care team.
With a Director of Advanced Practice and 34 Lead APPs across the system, Rush?s vision is to have every APP practicing at full scope and top of license.
APPs at Rush are highly competent, well-respected members of the healthcare team that contribute to the excellent quality care that Rush patients receive each day.

Nurse Practitioner:
Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse
Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position
Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)
Maintains State of Illinois and Federal DEA license
Must maintain Rush University Medical Center (RUMC), Rush Oak Park Hospital (ROPH), and Rush Copley Medical Center (RCMC) clinical privileges, as applicable.
CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications.Excellent communicator

The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, specialty; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational factors.
This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.
Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign-on bonuses, and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.Pay Range:
