Job Title: Medical Director for the Master of Science: Physician Assistant (MSPA) Program
Location: Tempe, AZ
Department: Master of Science: Physician Assistant Program

SUPERVISOR: MSPA Program Director
General Purpose of the Job:
This position is primarily responsible for serving the Master of Science: Physician Assistant program. The medical director is responsible for applying their expertise to oversee the curriculum. This includes developing the competencies to meet current practice standards as they relate to the PA role. This individual must be an active participant in the program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Medical Director is responsible for and must actively participate in the following:
- Developing, reviewing and revising as necessary the mission statement, goals and competencies of the program
- Applicant interviews
- Selecting applicants for admission to the MSPA program through collaboration with the Admissions Committee
- Provide student instruction
- A Medical Director may be assigned the role of teaching assist for one or more courses per term.
- Student instruction may occur either in-person or virtually depending on course assignment
- Teaching assignments may vary term by term depending on the needs of the program.
- Establishes and secures supervised clinical practice experiences (SCPE) for the MSPA program
- Designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum
- Evaluating the program
- Attend in-person events including Faculty Forums, White Coat Ceremony, and Graduation
- Participate in all aspects of the accreditation process
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Attendance:
Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled breaks, where applicable.
Onsite:
This position requires weekly occasional onsite support and/or attendance.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience:
- Currently licensed allopathic or osteopathic physician
- Certified by an ABMS- or AOA-approved specialty board
Computer skills required:
MS Office 365, MS Teams and SIS system
- Other skills required:
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to prioritize work, perform well under pressure and maintain productivity despite consistent interruptions.
