Part-time - 20 hours per weekABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Founded in 1970, Boley Centers, Inc., is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting individuals with mental disabilities, as well as homeless individuals and families, Veterans, and youth in Pinellas County. Boley Centers, Inc., a reputable behavioral health care agency, is currently seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Technician to work 20 hours per week.
JOB SUMMARY:
This role involves providing a range of services for clients residing in a designated residential facility. Responsibilities include Living Skills Training, organizing transportation to activities, offering counseling, monitoring medication, and providing support with housekeeping. The position also entails maintaining accurate records, receipts, and necessary documentation as outlined by regulations and policies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
An Associates degree is preferred. However, relevant experience may be considered with a high school diploma. Candidates holding an Associates degree or a high school diploma must complete certification as a Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) within the specified timeframe according to Agency policy. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree may be accepted in place of the CBHT certification. All education should be obtained from an accredited institution.
For candidates with an Associates degree, a minimum of one year of paid experience in behavioral health care is required. High school diploma holders should have at least two years of paid experience in this field. A Bachelor's degree can be used to substitute the necessary experience.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of mental illness, counseling techniques, and behavior modification.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Applicants should possess strong communication skills (both verbal and written), interpersonal abilities, teaching skills, counseling expertise, coaching capabilities, training proficiency, basic math and language skills, record-keeping competence, evaluation skills, organizational and planning aptitude, ability to follow verbal or written instructions, and crisis intervention skills, among others essential for the job.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
A valid Florida driver's license is mandatory for this position.
