is a full-service engineering company dedicated to serving clients throughout the Dakotas, Montana, Idaho & beyond. We are now seeking a

senior planner

to lead the planning division.

The ideal candidate will be well-established in their field and looking to advance professionally by helping to manage and grow a newer division.

This division is currently operating; however, we are aggressively looking to build this department into a land use resource for all manner of clients.

This position would work in tandem with outgoing staff for a period and would transition to leading the planning division themselves.

This transition period would include any training as needed.

Hyalite is a small, yet diverse and well-respected engineering and surveying firm that has been working in Montana since 2002.

LOCATION:
Bozeman, Montana. Periodic travel to project sites and client offices within ND & ID.


POSITION:
Senior Planner


EDUCATION:
Master's Degree in Urban Planning or similar degree. AICP Certification preferred.


EXPERIENCE:
3+ Years in land use planning. Additional management experience preferred.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as a land use planning consultant and/or project manager for municipal and private clients in Montana, Idaho, North Dakota, and beyond

Complete work for a diverse range of project types

Land Use Planning both Current and Long Range Projects

GIS projects including map making, spatial analysis, and public engagement efforts

Consultation on active projects

Active coordination with multiple review authorities on all manner of projects

Pursue new Planning and GIS clients

Prepare documents, including long-range plans, staff reports, and development applications

Varying levels of marketing activities to include Proposal Drafts for Engineering and Planning Projects

Meeting with Prospective Clients


REQUIREMENTS
Proficient with GIS (ArcPro and ArcOnline) and common office software (Word, Excel, etc.)

Proficiency with Adobe Suite is desirable

Excellent written and communication skills

Strong professional image conveying integrity and commitment to excellence

Detail oriented and organized

Self-starter that is comfortable working independently and interfacing with existing and potential clients

Physically able to conduct field inspections, site surveys, etc. as required

Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record

Satisfactory background check

Project Management Skills to help facilitate project completion


COMPENSATION:
Wage is dependent on experience and qualifications. Benefit package includes health, vision, and dental insurance programs, 401K, paid time off, discretionary benefits, and major holidays.
