Good Samaritan Society in De Smet is currently looking for a PRN Certified Nursing Assistant.
Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant plays a crucial role in providing resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. They assist residents with daily living activities, ensuring their physical and psychological needs are met according to care plans. Apart from providing basic health care and personal care, the Nursing Assistant also supports residents during meals, transfers, and recreational activities. They work closely with the nursing team, following infection prevention protocols and using Personal Protective Equipment as required.
The Nursing Assistant is responsible for documenting resident interactions, vital signs, and care outcomes, as well as communicating any changes in resident conditions to the charge nurse. They also assist in housekeeping, laundry services, and wellness programs. Participation in organizational committees and task forces may be necessary.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is advantageous. Must hold a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or be in the process of obtaining one. Yearly competency testing and continuing education are mandatory, along with maintaining necessary certifications.
