\t\tGeneral Purpose and Scope of Position:\r
\t\r
\t\tWilbur-Ellis is seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic to monitor vehicle inspections and perform light to moderate truck and agricultural equipment repairs and maintenance. The prime function of the shop mechanic is to carry out preventative maintenance and repair.\r

\t\tKey Skills and Abilities Include\r

\t\t\tKnowledge and/or experience with agricultural operations (strongly preferred)\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tKnowledge and/or experience with trucks and heavy agricultural equipment (preferred)\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tExperience with Small engine pump repair a plus\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tAbility to bend and lift boxes and bags up to 65 lbs\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tHigh school diploma or equivalent (required)\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tMust possess a valid driver's license\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\t2 or more years of work experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of small equipment, both diesel and gasoline-type engines and hydraulic equipment\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tWorking knowledge of safety practices and procedures while making mechanical repairs\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tAbility to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment with accuracy and speed, ability to create effective working relationships with employees; ability to communicate both verbally and in writing\r
\t\r
\t\r
\t\t \r
\t\r

\t\tSpecific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include\r
\t\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tResponsible for the maintenance and repair of small engines, both gas and diesel and including hydraulic equipment\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tRepairs fractional-horsepower gasoline and/or diesel engines using tools, hand tools, etc., appropriate for the repair work needed\r
\t\t\t\r
\t\t\t\t\r
\t\t\t\t\tLocates causes of trouble, dismantles engines, and examines parts for defects\r
\t\t\t\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tPerforms preventative maintenance work, such as checking oil and fluid levels on all equipment, replaces or repairs parts, such as rings and bearings, to avoid unnecessary repairs and downtime in the field\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tMaintains inventory records on repairs made, parts ordered, and parts inventory\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tService equipment as required to ensure proper working conditions when leaving the shop\r
\t\t\t\r
\t\t\t\t\r
\t\t\t\t\tReplaces engines on machines as necessary\r
\t\t\t\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tFabricate parts and equipment as required to meet shop and function needs\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tPerform safety inspections on equipment\r
\t\t\t\r
\t\t\t\t\r
\t\t\t\t\tStarts repaired engines and listens to sounds to test performance\r
\t\t\t\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tCleans the shop and work area as necessary to maintain a safe work environment\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tMake use of all standard office equipment; Computer software and programs, Fax machines, copier machines, etc. to effectively perform all aspects of position responsibilities\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tFollow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in all company, Government and equipment-related safety requirements and as directed in the employee handbook\r
\t\t\r
\t\t\tPerform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner\r
\t\r
\t\r
\t\t\r

\t\t\t\tIn compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $ $30.73 per hour. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits. \r
