    Description

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1.

    Receives, inspects, and delivers incoming materials, supplies, and equipment to stock room or to the designated department in a timely manner.2.

    Has department representative sign receipt of package(s) per policy.3. Fills routine stock requisitions4. Replenishes patient charge items5.

    Adjusts PAR levels for chargeable and non-chargeable supply items to achieve minimization of both stock-outs and inventory investment of the stock room supplies stocked in hospital departments.6.

    Checks all stock items for expiration dates and removes them from the shelf.7. Rotates all stock to ensure that the oldest stock is used first.8. Informs Assistant Materials Manager of potential stock room stock-out situations.9. Maintains controls and accountability of all aspects of the distribution and stock room functions.10.

    Checks quantities received against packing slip against items received and is responsible for notifying the Assistant Materials Manger of any discrepancies.11.

    Cycle Counts stock as per policy to ensure quantity available agrees with computer availability.12.

    Stickers charge items prior to items being placed on the shelf, except for items going strictly to EMS, Surgery, Emergency Department, and New Beginnings.13.

    Logs temperature and humidity levels of the stock room.14. Prepares and ships all return goods15. Designates shelf space for supplies based on usage, classification, and accessibility.16. Keys in receipts of supplies17. Keys in issuance of supplies18. Maintains the stock room in a neat, orderly, and safe manner.19. Performs other duties as assigned by the Materials Manager or Assistant Materials Manager. RequirementsA high school education is required. One year experience as stock clerk preferred. Ability to attend to many details under conditions of frequent interruptions is required. Must be able to communicate well with other people.
