    West Metro Signing Engineer | Up to $111,186/annually

    The incumbent may have the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid schedule and will be required to report onsite at least once/month but may be required to work onsite more depending on business needs. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.

    Our West Metro Signing Engineer (Engineer Senior/Engineer 2 Graduate) position is responsible for directing the development of MnDOT signing plans for state contracts and maintenance operations, reviewing plans prepared by consultants and local agencies, responding to internal and external requests from the public and managing consultant contracts. This position also issues district traffic control work orders for maintenance of Metros signing infrastructure.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum Qualifications for Engineer Senior:

    To qualify for Engineer Senior, applicants must meet all the following:

    -Licensure as a professional civil engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through Comity (Reciprocity). (If obtaining licensure through Comity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment).

    Minimum Qualifications for Engineer 2 Graduate:

    To qualify for Engineer 2 Graduate, applicants must meet all the following:

    -A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.

    -A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.

    -Two years post-graduation civil engineering work.

    Education: A Masters degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university substitutes for one year of post-graduate civil engineering work.

    NOTE: This vacancy is being announced at two different job classes at the same time: Engineer Senior and Engineer 2 Graduate. Only one position will be filled; the final class and starting salary of this position is dependent on the successful applicants qualifications.
