The Department of Defense is seeking qualified law enforcement professionals to serve as Shift Supervisors (GS-9, 0083 Police Series) at Fort Irwin, California.
This is a leadership role within an IMCOM-supported installation, responsible for supervising law enforcement operations and ensuring the protection of life, property, and civil rights.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Shift Supervisor for installation law enforcement personnel
- Exercise full search, apprehension, and detention authority
- Conduct patrol operations, traffic enforcement (radar, LIDAR, breathalyzer), and high-speed pursuit when necessary
- Protect installation access control points and secure incident perimeters
- Operate NCIC terminals in compliance with federal/state law
- Plan, assign, and oversee work of subordinate officers
- Prepare schedules, set priorities, and manage shift operations
Conditions of Employment
- Graduation from the U.S. Army Civilian Police Academy (or completion within one year of hire)
- Must maintain Secret clearance (T3)
- Mandatory drug testing (Testing Designated Position – AR
- Annual physical exam and Physical Agility Test (PAT) required
- Weapons qualification, CPR/First Aid, and NIMS certification required
- Must comply with Individual Reliability Program standards
- Valid state driver's license required
- Subject to irregular shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and recall
- Supervisory probationary period may apply

- Preventing, detecting, and investigating crimes and misconduct
- Apprehending violators
- Responding to emergencies
- Protecting life, property, and civil rights
- Assisting in prosecution of criminal cases
