    For more information, visit OverviewThe Research and Development Engineer II is responsible for supporting different projects in the department related to research, design, development and improvement of products, processes, and organizational efficiencies at Arlon.

    The work requires understanding and application of scientific and engineering discipline to relate to the definition of product design, material properties interaction, troubleshooting and application requirement.

    Key ResponsibilitiesFamiliar with Stage Gate/Change Process to initiate and track projects related to New Product Development, Product Improvement and Change Qualifications to ensure timely launch and transition.

    Create and manage project test plans and specifications defined by the scope of the project.
    Perform lab testing with various technical equipment to effectively collect and interpret data.
    Conduct actual developmental trials on the production line with operators.
    Maintain and monitor project status, resource, and budget to ensure on target delivery.
    Collaborate with Technical Service, Sales and customers to validate product testing for voice of customers.
    Present detailed analysis and reporting of project updates, technical findings, risk analysis and provide recommendation.
    Collaborate with Process and Quality team to manage product scale up and high-quality assurance of product.
    Active on-going engagement with suppliers to evaluate technical solutions that meet specification.
    Support on critical projects with considerable significance to the organization.
    Design and perform experimental tests within scope of project responsibilities and ensure conformance with scientific methods and procedures.
    Plans, executes, and analyzes design of experiments (DOE).Identify process gaps and drive improvements.
    Prepare and maintain product documentation, instruction manuals, project notebooks, and design and test documentation.
    Ensure proper maintenance of lab equipment and update internal test methods where applicable.
    Ensure proper documentation of research and analysis.
    Lead key initiatives to drive organizational improvement.

    RequirementsMinimum Required Education, Experience and Skills:

    Bachelors degree in a scientific or engineering fieldMinimum of three years recent work experience in product development, product design, quality control or manufacturing.

    Proven track record in product development, design, and working closely with manufacturing.
    Proven track record on successfully completing R&D projectsUnderstanding and prior utilization of Stage-Gate
    • Process, Six Sigma tools, such as FMEA, process diagram, root cause analysisProficient knowledge of Microsoft OfficeBasic understanding of Lean ManufacturingProficient in us utilizing R&D test instruments such as: FTIR, Tensile Tester, TMLI and experience in developing new test methodsProficient knowledge of software used in corporate environment such as ERP software and statistical analysis software.

    Excellent communication skills in the English language (verbal, written, written, presentation, inter-personal)Basic understanding of Lean ManufacturingIs personally guided by, espouses, communicates, and works with, and through, values of integrity, excellence, inspirational, teamwork and accountability (Arlons core values).

    Pay Transparency:
    The current pay range for this position is between $75,000-$85,000.

    Rate of pay will depend on factors such as market conditions and location, job-related knowledge and skills, education, training and experience.

    If hired, employment will be at will.

    The Company reserves the right to modify pay, as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program, at any time.
