    POSITION DESCRIPTION:
    SCREW MACHINE TEAM LEADER

    Our ILSCO business in Matamoros Mexico is adding a Screw Machine Team Leader.

    Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position significantly contributes to safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance within our manufacturing facility by effectively leading the day to day operations of our screw machine department.

    This position will lead designated employees by assigning work, assisting with troubleshooting and maintenance, and providing technical expertise and training.

    This is a "hands on" position that requires the ability to not only lead and support others, but to actually perform setups, operate machines, and maintain equipment.

    This position will be heavily involved in continuous improvement initiatives and will serve as a "subject matter expert" on all matters related to screw machines.

    The Screw Machine Team Leader will work closely with other operations team members including plant management, supply chain, engineering, and quality in support of department and plant objectives.

    Position will supervise 8-10 operators and also perform and/or train and lead others how to:

    • Analyze and interpret part prints in order to adjust tooling to proper specifications
    • Set up and operate multi-spindle and single-spindle screw machines
    • Utilize appropriate tooling and gauges
    • Utilize SPC software to collect manufacturing data
    • Problem solve and analyze on quality and efficiency issues
    • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on screw machines and bar threader
    • Perform required preventative maintenance on equipment
    • Create and maintain work instructions/standard work for all task related to screw machines
    • Drive/support continuous improvement initiatives

    • Ability to create daily, weekly and monthly plans to identify and prioritize actions, set time lines and allocate resources necessary to accomplish departmental objectives

    Analytical Skills

    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, standard work and work instruction
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
    • Working knowledge of ERP software (JDE preferred) and SPC software
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook & Word)

    Other

    • Ability to work independently to execute initiatives and accomplish goals
    • Must be able to hear/speak/understand team members at all levels within a diverse workforce
    • Must be able to walk to a variety of primary work locations, stand/bend/stoop for extended periods of time
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

    Required Experience

    • Vocational training or technical school program completion
    • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a high volume, fast paced screw machine environment
    • Experience as on operator, troubleshooter, setup technician, and lead person
    • Experience with 5/8" & 1" Acme, Davenport, and Brown & Sharp machines
    • Experience with Tesker bar threaders
