About The Role

Work toward the prevention of workplace incidents through cooperation with plant operations.  Assist in the coordination and administrative aspects of plant safety/health programs. Facilitate safety training to include new hire orientation.   This person will report to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety and environmental training throughout the full employment life cycle.
  • Track training for all environmental, health and safety components to maintain OSHA compliance.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, documentation and reporting for EHS metrics. 
  • Schedule and administer periodic testing, including Respirator and Hearing tests. 
  • Support health and safety management initiatives as a member of the Safety Committee.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance. 

Candidate Requirements

5 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in a safety support role. Experience delivering training programs. Understanding of safety in a manufacturing setting and possesses a passion for the safety and wellbeing of all employees.  Must be able to travel to support multiple facilities.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this job in the factory areas, the employee is exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust, fumes and is near moving machinery. 

HIPAA Privacy Training and Sanctions

All employees who have access to health information that is protected by the HIPAA Privacy Rule are required by the Rule to receive training so that they have an understanding and knowledge of the Privacy Rule that corresponds to their job responsibilities and of the group health plan's policies and procedures that impact their job duties.  Training on the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rule and the plan's health information policies and procedures are under the direction of the plan privacy officer. Employees who violate the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rule will be subject to discipline, up to and including termination.
