    What You'll Do:
    • Learn to conduct thorough coating inspections on various construction projects.
    • Complete detailed field inspection reports and document findings accurately.
    • Use specialized field-testing equipment and assist with testing on-site.

    • Adhere to Dixon Engineering's inspection techniques, safety standards, and construction methodology.

    • Entry-level candidates with some construction-related experience (whether from previous jobs, internships, or projects).
    • Ability to work at heights upwards of 150' and in various outdoor environments.
    • A valid driver's license with a good driving record.

    Education and Experience:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Some college education or construction-related experience is a plus.

    Responsibilities

    • Operate survey instruments, test equipment, and metering devices to perform a thorough inspection of construction projects

    • Assess building plans and blueprints to ensure they meet building code ordinances, electrical code safety, contract specifications, local standards, and zoning regulations

    • Inspect the structural soundness of buildings - including roofing, foundation, sewer, heating systems, air conditioning, electrical systems, hoists, escalators, and plumbing systems

    • Carry out land surveys to determine alignment, leveling, and elevation of structures on worksites

    • Issue stop-work orders and violation notices to construction sites when needed, approve satisfactory plans, issue permits, and produce written inspection reports

    Qualifications

    • Some college or technical education in the area of engineering, building inspection technology, construction management, or construction technology is valuable, but a high school diploma is required

    • A satisfactory driving record and valid driver's license are required

    • 2-3 years of construction industry experience is desired working with construction trades as a plumbing inspector, real estate home inspector, or mechanical inspector

    • Strong communication and decision-making skills, and mechanical knowledge are needed

    • Knowledge of zoning regulations, construction methods, inspection techniques, and state and local safety regulations and ordinances is vital
