    The Imaging Navigator navigates the patient's mammography results, ensuring the patients get appropriate follow up. They also assist the mammography department to ensure efficient patient flow by performing support duties related to imaging services.

    *This is a Monday-Friday, 40 hr/week position that will work at our Peterkort location.

    DUTIES

    • Proactively monitors mammography schedule and pool, communicates updates to patients and staff.
    • Assures that patients are scheduled for the appropriate Breast Imaging service.
    • Maintains Breast Imaging Coordinator Dashboard in EPIC with other clinical staff.
    • Stocks procedure room as needed.
    • Coordinates patient care and follow up imaging with internal and external medical staff.
    • Performs the following functions within the EMR; accesses patient mammography report, reviews Gail score, documents mammography results, builds recalls, performs soft sign, routes mammography report to clinician's desktop.
    • Requests external imaging and pathology reports for processing by HIM.
    • Creates and links screening mammography orders to patient appointment.
    • Answers telephone calls concerning general questions on breast imaging.
    • Prepares and mails patient lay letters for all results including certified when indicated.
    • Assists in maintaining cleanliness of mammography and ultrasound rooms as directed.
    • Follows up on all patients to ensure patient's records are accurate with reports and images.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Graduate from an accredited medical assisting or Licensed Practical Nursing program
    • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
    • Prior experience with EMR systems, Epic preferred.
    • Basic understanding of PACS uses, preferred.
    • Keyboarding, data entry and basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Breast Anatomy and Basic Pathology, preferred.
