    Job Title:
    Radiologic Technologist at Erlanger Medical Center


    Job Summary:
    • A Radiologic Technologist at Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for providing radiological care to patients in the Operating Room, Endoscopy Units, and Perioperative Areas.
    • Tasks include performing various procedures using x-ray equipment for surgical services and occasionally assisting in procedures.

    Education:
    • Required: Graduate of an ARRT approved radiologic technology program.

    Reference:
    • Compliant with all continuing education mandates.

    Preferred:
    • AS Health Science in Radiologic Technology.

    Experience:
    • Required: Completion of on-the-job Competency Training Program within 6 months of hire.
    • Preferred: 1 year of clinical experience.
    Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration
    • Required: ARRT certified and compliant with continuing education mandates, or ARRT registry eligible (must complete within one year of hire). BLS certification completed before joining the unit/department and maintained thereafter.
    • Preferred: N/A.

    Department Position Summary:
    • The employee should possess the knowledge and skills to provide comprehensive radiology and technical support in designated areas.
    • Tasks include performing procedures with x-ray equipment, understanding sterile techniques, and recognizing and responding to emergent situations promptly.
    • Setting up equipment for exams, ensuring proper cleaning and storage, and operating various imaging machines are also key responsibilities.
    • The individual must demonstrate understanding of patient care requirements based on age-specific needs and follow unit policies.
    • Evaluation of competency can be done through various methods including direct observation and peer reviews.
