    The Accountant assists with the month end accounting for the Finance organization at Winland Foods. This position will assist the management team with ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of the month end close process and the financial statements. This position will provide analytical support to business units through maintaining and integrating accounting systems, audits, and month end reporting for management. They will also assist with other areas such as SG&A, plant accounting, internal and external reporting, and overall review of work. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Record to Report.

    * Hybrid Schedule: Monday & Friday Remote, Tuesday to Thursday in office

    Job Description:

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Performs month end work including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, analysis of accounts and reports, along with other ad hoc requests.
    • Ensures tasks are completed accurately and timely for the areas assigned.
    • Assists with the preparation of monthly internal financial packages and external reporting items.
    • Plays a role in the integration of acquisitions and the accounting and reporting for divestitures, including working with internal and external business partners.
    • Assists with projects relating to driving efficiencies in reporting, as well as projects related to improving profitability, budgeting, insurance, taxes, audit, and capital requests.
    • Participates in ongoing internal control compliance reviews and maintenance.

    Qualifications & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's degree preferred
    • Minimum of three years of progressive accounting experience required
    • CPA preferred
    • Demonstrated track record of accomplishing objectives and solving problems
    • Must be a highly motivated, results driven, and self-starting individual who can use their work experience and apply theory to prepare cost analysis
    • Process improvement experience preferred
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and monitoring progress
    • Knowledge of financial systems and multiple ERPs (SAP preferred)
    • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams) required
    • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines with accurate and detailed results
    • Excellent communication skills (formal and informal) with business acumen and ability to communicate within all levels of the organization, setting a tone of working in partnership and collaboration
    • Occasional travel to business meetings may be required
