    Job DescriptionLeading manufacturer in Harvard, IL is hiring a full time Welder/Supervisor. The Welder/Supervisor will lead and oversee the team's production, track facility schedules, and monitor attendance. The Welder/Supervisor is expected to demonstrate a 'hands-on' approach and pitch in alongside the team. Hours: 7am to 3:20pm, Mon-FriPay: $25-$35/hour DOEBenefits: Health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, 401k, company bonusesWelder/Supervisor Responsibilities:
    • Monitor production activities
    • Perform quality checks and quality audits
    • Lead and oversee team production activities
    • Review work orders, work instructions, drawings, and project timelines
    • Expedite 'rush' orders as necessary
    • Troubleshoot issues and complaints as they arise
    • Initiate corrective action as necessary; escalate complex issues
    • Uphold quality, compliance, and safety standards
    • Ensure welding areas remains neat and orderly
    • Determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
    • Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded
    • Set up, align, assemble, and tack weld parts as required
    • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
    • Ensure completed welds are of acceptable visual quality
    • Operate jib cranes, overhead cranes, and forklift
    Welder/Supervisor Requirements:
    • 2+ years of Welding Management or Supervisory experience
    • Possess effective communication skills
    • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical degree in welding helpful
    • Ability to read measuring device to 1/16 of an inch
    • Familiar with plasma cutter and grinders
    • Forklift certified or ability to obtain certification
    • Possess problem solving skills
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to Read and interpret fabrication drawings, including welding symbols and marking of materials for final weld assembly, using measuring tape, rulers, fixtures jibs, calipers, clamps, and grinders
